MSN Spaces have recently decided to enter the music market by offering a music service for artists, allowing them to upload music and video to their MSN Space. Barking Spiders provided the technical expertise to make this happen |
The MSN Spaces project brought together the hosting capabilities of Blueprint and the market reach of MSN, to deliver a 'toe in the water' solution for both companies. Since MSN could not change any of their code (due to inappropriate release windows) all functionality had to be constructed using existing MSN functionality. Barking Spiders overcame this problem by constructing a client based application that allowed artists to generate their own RSS feed. In order to have music available on the artist Space, the artist simply copied and pasted the RSS URL into their Space.

BARFLYCLUB Ltd. originally expressed concern to Barking Spiders regarding the speed of their existing Content Management System (CMS) and website. The Barfly CMS is an integral tool for the day-to-day operation of their business, controlling all calendar bookings and website data. |
| After some inital analysis, it was evident that although the existing system had performed an adequate job for some time, it was no longer capable of dealing with the number of users or the volume of data. As with many 'in-house' solutions, the constant 'add-ons' had effectively ground the system to a halt. Barking Spiders spent several months with Barfly to first of all perfectly understand the business, then map out the business processes to establish exactly where an automated system would provide a business benifit. A brief was developed clearly stating what would be delivered, when it would be delivered and how much it would cost. The solution provided to The Barfly is effectively future proof (well at least until they start selling flowers in the venues) and has changed the way that the company conducts it's business. |

The Barfly Great Escape will have it's inaugural year in 2006 as the UKs premier music industry conference and showcase. Complimenting the quality of the speakers & artists appearing at the event, Barking Spiders has been commisioned to develop a website and Content Management System from scratch. |
The Great Escape is a festival/event primarily focused at promoting 'export ready' artists, ultilising the skills and experience of not only the Barfly team but also key members from the Glastonbury management team. The website will be the only way to purchase tickets for the event and is the driver of the overall 'look and feel' for all of the event design elements, web based or not.

Furthermore, Zillionaire's website allows fans to interact with the band and join the massive mailing list, plus receive automatic updates of news and progress. |
